I am now working on a pair of slipper socks, a cabled set of arm cozies/handwarmers, and another pair of "Fetching" handwarmers.

I am a self-taught knittter, and have been knitting for nearly 3 months. I have an assortment of FO's under my belt, mainly beginner projects like scarves, handbags, and bandanas.

This project was inspired by a dear friend. I have known Brianna longer than anyone in my life - since I was 3 years old. She recently was married, and is expecting her first child this month. I was eager to finish this baby blanket prior to the birth of her daughter. Tackling this project was slightly daunting at first, but came along fairly quickly after getting the hang of the way the pattern works.

This was a DK weight blanket, and I chose King Cole "Sapphire DK" acrylic blend yarn in Pearl White and Pearl Lilac. I used 705 yds. in total as the blanket is 37" x 48" completed.

I am so crazy excited to have this project completed, and even more excited to see Brianna's reaction when she receives it. She has no idea what my "secret project" for her is, and I hope it will be well loved and well used.

so ... yea, long time no update again. I'm mailing one in this time due to a busy morning.


* 18 days and counting until my birthday. it is that time of the year where birthdays between loved ones and friends are running rampant.

* things on the homefront are the same - no new immigration status, no visa, and still plugging away at sanity.

* in about 6 weeks or so, there will be news worth writing about. my sister is coming for a visit! :D
I haven't seen her in nearly 2 years, so it will be amazing to reconnect and have some fun. we're also taking her to see Blue Man group.
